Tour Guide for a Day

After four weeks in Huntingdon, we went off to Farnborough in Hampshire for the fifth and final week of the Boost Camp. And while it was a weekend, a side trip to London has been arranged by the company. Each one of us was booked in a service apartment in Prince’s Square just near Notting Hill. It was a blast staying in that upscale part of London. The apartments were just like what we usually see in the movies.

Since most of my co-boost campers were having their first time in the city, they decided to check out all the famous tourist spots with me as their tour guide. Hehe!!! You see, I was lucky enough to explore London on my fourth day in this country with colleagues. It would be the best time for me to check out my map-reading skills, sense of direction and my attention to details of those places we visited before. I will be an ace if I manage to guide them through the maze-like tube of London. So after setting up the itinerary, we were on the onset of our London Day Tour.

Well, the day ended really neat and we went back to the hotel safe but tired. I enjoyed walking around London with fellow Pinoys and an Indian-Malaysian friend to help me out with my…hmmm…tour guide chores. I can’t help but look forward to bringing my visiting friends sight-seeing in London one of these days. By that time, I’ll be the best guide that I can be. Hehe!!!

Dreams Do Come True

Since I’m off from work today, I decided to organize my photos taken during my first few weeks here. I just can’t believe that I am actually here. I only used to read about this place in my romantic novels or catch them in films. Visiting London and the rest of England was once but a dream and who would have thought that my ultimate fantasy has become a reality?

From the time that I started reading about England, its royal family and the blue-blooded, I was immediately taken and fascinated with it. Then I started dreaming about visiting the country, discovering their culture and share their marvelous accent. I even came to a point of self-designating a title for me. Hehe!!! I can’t blame my friends for considering me delusional because of it. But it’s all worth it because God has heard my ardent wish and decided it’s about time that He granted it. Just keep on dreaming…dreams do come true.

God’s Great Gift

When I first heard about the offer, I did not pay much attention to it because I thought it was just one of those “offers”. You see, it came during a time when I was receiving quite a number of calls from head-hunting agencies offering contractual positions in Asia, Africa and Latin America and after expressing interest and prettily got excited about it, I wouldn’t hear about them or even hear their famous line: “our client cannot accept you as you are still connected with their customer”. Well maybe it’s their easy way of saying that they are not interested in my qualification at all. Hehe!!! Then out of nowhere, this agency which was unfamiliar to me made a follow-up call scheduling me for a technical interview over the phone with their client. After a couple of weeks and series of phone conversations, I found myself sitting face-to-face with my future-boss for further interview in one of the buildings in Makati. The next thing I knew…I was signing the contract, submitting requirements for the work permit, applying for employment visa, getting hold of one-way plane ticket, packing my bags and off to…ENGLAND!!!

Never in my wildest dreams had I ever thought of getting a permanent position in this company, much more in their United Kingdom office. I thought it was simply impossible. I was hoping and praying for opportunities to move on with my career but not as BIG as this one. This is far more than I expected and up until now, I myself can’t even believe this great gift. Indeed, God has all the wonderful plans for all of us. He simply made all of these possible for me. All we need to do is trust in HIM and patiently wait for the right opportunity at the right time…in God’s perfect time.

LIFE…and something like it.

I’ve always wanted to make a bog of my own but everytime I start doing one, something incessantly popped up that I ended up not completing anything at all. Now that I seemed to have started a new life in a new place and got a whole lot of things to share, I guess this is the best time to start one now. So here it goes…anything and everything about LIFE…and something like it.
